I think I made the perfect cup of tea today. It was de-caf, but that still counts. For those of us who aren't allowed caffiene, but are not willing to give up tea, decaf is a God send! My tea was the usual milk and no sugar, it was the third use of this tea bag (and last), and I don't care what people say, the milk goes in last! Water and teabag in, remove teabag, add milk, equals perfection!
Other things that have brightened my day are, the weather, it's gloriously sunny but there's a lovely breeze to stop me from melting. I sat on my windowsill for a while until I gained too much attention from people in the street. That's one of the main issues with living in the centre of a city, no gardens, and everyone waiting for a bus can see you dangling your feet out of your window. It might take them a while to notice, I am three floors up, but they undoubtedly will. I even had a Chinese couple take photos of me, I smiled and waved for it.
In about an hour I'll be going to the hairdressers, this strikes major fears in my heart for a few reasons. It's been a fair while since I last went to the hairdressers and I've been chopping my own hair for a long time, I know it's a mess. They'll know it's a mess, I'll have to point out that I am aware before they think I'm a total hobo. It's going to be expensive too, hot damn, it's going to be very expensive! However I'm hoping they give me a lovely cut, a lovely colour and a lovely, complimentary, cup of tea.
My hair gets me a lot of attention, and is what most people remember about me, or say is their favorite of my features. I'm beginning to think I should probably pay more loving attention to my hair, but I'm far too lazy and tight to buy lots of posh hair products and all the very cheap stuff seems to work well enough.
I recently discovered new lows in my studenthood. Yes I am poor, yes I am still shelling out for the hairdressers, yes it's not very good. Anyway, I found a 'range' of shampoo and conditioner from 'boots'. 24p for shampoo! WOW! Hell yes! It's very worryingly bright blue, but it does the job; and for 24p I don't think I'd ever complain.
I think students live in some crazy paradox. Half the time we shell out copper coins for 24p shampoo and 11p noodles. Then the rest of the time we're spending £20 on DVDs, £30 on a pair of shorts and Lord only knows how much on a games console.
I know I am; minus the games console. I've still not quite decided which I want. The three contenders being the xbox 360, PS3 and wii. The wii is out straight away because if I fancy playing a computer game, I'm not wanting to break in to a sweat. I'm not fat, I don't need exercise sneakily labelled as "fun". I've already got a PS2, and I'm very fond of it so the PS3 seemed like an obvious choice, but I don't have a TV and if I wanted to use my PS2 in my current flat, I'd have to get a TV liscence. I bloody hate TV. BAH. The xbox 360 is the console that won me over the most, I was loving mocking it and "bigging up" the PS3, but then I played on my housemate's 360... and my oh my, it's jolly good fun! Gears of war and ranbow 6 are my favorite games. I'm not great at either, but they're great fun. I need to practice my thumb controll to beat the boys.

How do you get three uses from a tea bag? I tried two once and the second cup was just murky water.
PS3 all the way!
If you want to avoid tv licence you can hook it up to yer pc monitor as I did, or why not just go for it and blow your student loan on a nice big HD LCD and a licence, you know you want to! :P
PS3 + 40" HDTV = Aceness!
*Btw, your blog writings have made me giggle like a schoolgirl...tho that may in some part be due to the red wine I've had. :)
